BEIJING: At least 13 folks died on Saturday when a restaurant in northern China collapsed, state media said, with rescuers pulling dozens of survivors from the rubble and searching for others believed to be trapped.

Consistent with broadcaster CGTN, the two-storey construction used for banquets got down here in the morning in Xiangfen County, Shanxi Province.

Images at the CGTN site showed rescuers in orange overalls and difficult hats combing the crumbled destroy of the development, with a decorative portray noticed on one of the few walls nonetheless intact.

CGTN stated 700 other people had been involved within the rescue operation.

While the reason for the fiasco was not, at this point immediately clear, China isn't any more unusual to development breakdown and lethal improvement mishaps.

They are in most cases blamed at the nation's fast growth leading to corner-cutting via developers and the standard flouting of protection laws.
