Shabana Azmi speaks out against toxic masculinity: ‘Men need to change’

'At provide, there may be toxicity around the whole concept of masculinity,' stated Shabana Azmi

Indian actor Shabana Azmi is criticizing towards poisonous masculinity and calling for gender equality.

During a contemporary interview with IANS, the actor mentioned that it was necessary for males to change and for women to become extra impartial.

There's toxicity around the whole definition of masculinity at present. Masculinity means to flex muscles, to assert control over the weak. That, she said, is toxic.

We need men to adjust in order to create gender equality too. Why is it that masculinity is not about tenderness, empathy and support? All the qualities that we seek in the new progressive man, we get to see in Mee Raqsam's Salim character, "she added.
